C&E's prenotification is a follow-up to your insurance company and/or agency notification of the required survey, if they participate in the program. Surveys/inspections may be ordered at any time during the life of the policy. C&E is reaching out to inquire if your property is located in a gated community, privately gated, partially/fully fenced, or if there are any other access restrictions. Contact your agent or insurance company directly with any questions.
This is an exterior-only inspection for which no one needs to be present as long as the exterior of the home is accessible. If your property is located in a gated community, is fenced, tenant occupied, animals, or any pertinent information please let us know. On-site, the inspector will photograph the exterior of the home and the roof using a camera pole. We will then send the report to your carrier. Please reach out to them or your agent with any questions.
If you have any questions about the need for the inspection or survey that was ordered, please contact your insurance carrier or your agent. This was ordered by your carrier at no cost to you. It is a different type of inspection/survey than the one completed before the issuance of your policy.
During the inspection or survey, no one needs to be present on the premises. However, we kindly request that you inform us if access to the exterior of your home is restricted in any way. For example, if your property is located in a gated community, has a fenced yard, or is entirely fenced, please notify us. In addition, please share any pertinent information, such as the presence of animals, a tenant, or anything that could affect the inspection or survey.
If your carrier requests we pre-notify you, the inspection or survey will never be on the same day we send your initial courtesy text or phone call. We reach our prior as a courtesy to obtain access information to complete your inspection smoothly. If you have access restrictions such as a gated community, fenced yard, tenants, dogs etc, we will reach out when routing your area to ensure exterior access. The field rep will be notified of any restrictions and or requests.
Please contact your insurance company or your agent with any questions regarding the inspection or survey report and results as the field rep nor C&E are permitted to discuss or release this information.
You do not need to be present for the inspection/survey if it is Exterior Only, which is confirmed in the notification message. Please provide any gated community access codes or add C&E to the approved gate list for ease of access. If you have a locked fence, we can hold the survey for up to 5 days for your return to provide access. If you will be unavailable to provide access after the 5 days, we can either complete the survey with partial access or close out if none of the house is visible.
Please update us if you are selling your home or have sold the home. We will not need to complete your survey or inspection and will return your order to your insurance company. We recommend you contact your agent as well.
We do not currently complete surveys on any barrier islands or properties without bridge/continuous vehicle access . Please advise us if you live on an island accessible that is not directly and continuously accessible by car and we will advise the insurance company as your survey may need to be completed by a different company.
